Black and white (strolling with the man in black)
February 2024, a long shortest month.
I had the privilege of spending a week with one of my favorite photographers and watch him at work.
Before getting to know him in person I would refer to him as The Man in Black. I recently learned how several years ago a Village Voice’s writer had come up with a much better epithet – the Teutonic Phenomenographer.
We strolled through sunny Mestre and Venice on the last day of carnival, we walked inside the white through the thick laguna fog and visited highlights and desolated industrial landscapes of the area.
I mainly observed but did take some photos myself. Here’s the result.
Forever grateful to Miron Zownir.
